In January this year, a group of fifty Theatrical Adventurers joined us in Lanzarote for some winter sun and fun – and what a fantastic time we had!
We stayed at the beautiful Natura Palace Hotel in Playa Blanca, boasting stunning sea views across to the nearby island of Fuerteventura. Leaving behind the bitter chills of England, we basked in the sunshine – just the tonic we needed after a particularly bleak winter.
Of course, we brought along our wonderful entertainers as well. Sarah Helsby Hughes, Phoebe Smith, Joe Shovelton, and Stephen Godward were joined by musical director Chris Milton. Guests enjoyed fantastic community singing, engaging lectures about Lanzarote from Fergus Butler-Gallie, and outstanding tours and dining experiences throughout the island.
The trip was a resounding success, and due to popular demand, we will return to Lanzarote and the Natura Palace next year, from 22–28 January 2026.
Lanzarote, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, is renowned for its striking volcanic landscapes that give the island an otherworldly charm. We will take a guided bus tour to the spectacular Timanfaya National Park – the centrepiece of this dramatic scenery, featuring breathtaking views of dormant volcanoes, vast craters, and undulating lava fields. Lunch will be served at the iconic El Diablo Restaurant, where the meat is grilled using the geothermal heat from the earth’s interior – a truly unique culinary experience!
Our fabulous itinerary also includes a tour of the former home of renowned artist and architect César Manrique. This will be followed by a visit to Mirador del Río – a dramatic clifftop viewpoint designed by Manrique, with stunning views across the ocean.
We will visit Bodega Stratvs, a local winery, to learn about (and taste!) the unique wines of Lanzarote. There will also be a trip to the nearby Marina Rubicón to enjoy the bustling Saturday morning market, along with an optional boat tour from Puerto del Carmen.
And, of course, no Theatrical Adventure would be complete without music! Our fabulous professional singers will entertain you in style each evening after dinner. Additionally, musical director Chris Milton will lead choral singing masterclasses – or, if you prefer, you can choose to explore Playa Blanca or enjoy a cocktail by the pool.
Our guests gather each evening for a pre-dinner drink in the hotel bar, which provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know your fellow guests and the Theatrical Adventures directors, who will be present to ensure you have an outstanding holiday. We look forward to welcoming you for winter sunshine, fantastic company, and beautiful surroundings.
