Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to sing?

There are plenty of opportunities to get up and sing, either as a soloist, with a friend, one of our professional singers or as part of of Theatrical Adventures Choir - however you certainly don't have to! You can sit back and enjoy as a member of the audience as you are serenaded down the river.

What is the dress code?

During the day, wear what ever you are comfortable in - particularly on walking tours. Some religious sites require shoulders and knees are covered.

In the evening, we have no fixed dress code, but recommend smart casual. There are no formal nights.

Can I use my mobile phone abroad?

Following Brexit, many carriers have implemented roaming charges to visit Europe. If you are planning on travelling with a mobile, we recommend speaking to your carrier prior to travel to see what these charges will be. Often, they will offer a package you can purchase in advance at a cheaper rate giving you full connectivity and cellular access.

What clothes should I pack?

We suggest you pack comfortable walking shoes, dressier shoes, a collapsible umbrella/lightweight rain gear; items you can layer like lightweight jackets/sweaters; sunglasses, a sun hat/visor, sun cream; and toiletries including a travel-size hand sanitiser. Depending on the season and destination, you may also want to add mosquito repellent or a warm coat and gloves. Religious sites often require modest clothing that covers your knees and shoulders.

Is there internet access onboard?

All our ships sailing in Europe offer wifi. Some cruises charge a supplement and others offer complimentary internet access - your Customer Relationship Manager can confirm the details for your cruise. The connectivity relies on cellular or satellite services that can face interruption due to weather or terrain

Can I still use my EHIC Card?

If your EHIC card has still not expired, it is still valid in Europe and does not need changing. In most cases, once this expires, you will need to apply for a GHIC card. This should not been seen as a substitute for travel insurance.

Can you book my transfers?

We do not book individual travel, however we are on hand to provide advice and, if necessary, we can put you in touch with our travel partners to arrange door-to-door travel.

Can I pick my room when I book?

You certainly can! We allocate cabins from category you choose when booking based on the best available, however if you want to be sure you are next door to a friend, or have a specific cabin in mind, we will do our best to make it possible.

How do I find the boat upon arrival?

Where possible, a Theatrical Adventures representative will be waiting at the airport or main arrival point to guide passengers to the ship. If this is not possible, we will ensure detailed instructions are given to ensure you find your way.

How do I book optional tours?

Some of our trips have optional tours, available to book for an extra charge. We will contact you prior to departure to see if you would like to join any of these.

What if I need to amend my booking?

If you need to amend your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. We will be as flexible as possible and do our best to accommodate any changes you need to make.
