The National G&S Opera Company will take their four 2024 productions of HMS Pinafore and Trial by Jury, The Pirates of Penzance, and The Gondoliers to Malvern Theatre from Thursday, 5 September to Saturday, 7 September. Theatrical Adventures has put together an outstanding package programme including the best seats in the house for each show along with an exciting itinerary including a visit to the award-winning Coddington Vineyard and a trip to Elgar’s former home and free time to explore the charming, historic town of nearby Ledbury.

Guests make their own way to the hotel. Check-in from 3.00 pm.
We will meet for an early pre-theatre dinner at 5.30 pm and then make our way to the theatre to see our first performance. Performance: HMS Pinafore & Trial by Jury

6 September 2024

We enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing by coach the short journey to Coddington Vineyard around 11.30 am. We enjoy a tour of the vineyard, followed by time to sit in the gardens and enjoy tastings of three award-winning wines accompanied by tasty food platters of cheese, olives, meats, grapes and homemade chutneys.

It’s another leisurely, full English breakfast before we depart by coach for “The Firs”, Sir Edward Elgar’s birthplace. This is followed by free time in nearby Ledbury, where you will be able to soak up the town's history and see the unusual stilted 17th-century Market House. There will be an opportunity to explore Ledbury’s irresistible array of shops, art galleries and quaint cafes.

Enjoy a final breakfast before check-out by 11.00 am. Performance: No performance tonight, its goodbye until our next adventure!

HMS Pinafore & Trial by Jury

Two brand-new productions for the price of one!

The NGSOC sets sail on the HMS Pinafore in a hilarious brand-new production. Pompous Sir Joseph Porter arrives with plans to marry Josephine, the Captain’s daughter. But she has other plans and is soon plotting to elope with lowly sailor Ralph Rackstraw. Directed by and starring Bradley Travis.

Trial by Jury is a one-act operetta about glamorous Angelina, jilted by her dastardly fiancé Edwin. Angelina sues him for breach of promise of marriage. The learned judge and all the jury members fall for her charms so will there be a happy ending? Directed by Bruce Graham.

The Pirates of Penzance

Enjoy all-time favourite The Pirates of Penzance, directed by and starring Simon Butteriss. This hilarious production is great for all the family, with larger-than-life characters and a plot simply brimming with laughter and well-known tunes.

Follow the adventures of Frederic, a pirate’s apprentice, in love with the daughter of the Major General. Frederic finds himself torn between his sense of duty and his love for Mabel. Can he find a way to live happily ever after? Join the swashbuckling pirates and bumbling British bobbies for a hilarious production.

The Gondoliers

Directed by and starring Simon Butteriss, The Gondoliers is one of Sullivan’s sunniest scores and makes for irresistible, joyous entertainment. Book your seats early for this season's must-see show.

The Gondoliers is a love story and a tale of mistaken identity. Marco and Guiseppe have just married but are informed that one of them is the heir to the throne of the fictional kingdom of Barataria. But which one? To complicate matters the heir was married when an infant to Casilda, who has come to Venice to claim her husband. Enjoy wonderful melodies and our favourite dance, The Cachucha.
