Who Are Theatrical Adventures?
The people who bring you the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival every year are the same people behind Theatrical Adventures.
Theatrical Adventures charter the entire cruise ship and take outstanding opera singers, entertainers and musicians along. There’s even been a full orchestra onboard! And everyone has a common interest. Our guests love music, and they love to travel. So, every trip is just like one big house party.
There are plenty of opportunities for passengers to get involved too if they wish. Throughout the cruise, guests can rehearse a Gilbert & Sullivan opera with our musical director to perform on the final night. We keep our single supplements as small as possible to ensure our single travellers can enjoy the same holiday without unreasonable and sometimes excessive additional costs.
Our Festival directors accompany every cruise and are always on hand to help with anything and everything. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Theatrical Adventures also runs events closer to home: bespoke accommodation packages for the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton, and events all over the UK.

A Family Business with a Personal Touch
Founded in 2010 by the late Ian Smith, Theatrical Adventures remains very much a family business. Today, directors Janet, Neil and Oliver Smith are personally involved in every aspect of the company, from planning exciting new holidays to making sure everything runs smoothly along the way.
And because we're hands-on, there's always a familiar face to welcome you, someone to answer your questions and a helping hand whenever you need one. It's that personal touch that makes Theatrical Adventures rather special!
Entertainment That Makes Us Different
Every evening brings a wonderful variety of entertainment, from Gilbert & Sullivan and opera to musical theatre. Add fascinating guest lectures, TA Choir rehearsals and plenty of laughter, and it is easy to see why so many guests say the evenings are among the highlights of their holiday.
But what makes our holidays really special is that our performers don't simply arrive for a show and disappear again. They travel with us throughout the holiday, joining excursions, sharing meals and chatting with guests. By the end of the cruise, performers and guests have become part of one friendly company – and many of the friendships formed continue long after everyone has returned home.
